Lessy Sebastian was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he has lived for most of his life. His fascination with flora and fauna began during his childhood when he explored nature in Indonesia and watched shows like Animal Planet, National Geographic.

 

Educated in graphic design, followed by a career in the advertising industry, he developed his photographic technique and sensitivity to the beauty, concept and composition in his work. Starting in 2010 he became involved in macro photography in Jakarta.

 

Lessy Sebastian has a particular interest in insects, reptiles and frogs which he has loved since childhood. Frogs are such a favourite subject in his photos that his friends call him the 'Frog Whisperer'.

 

His work is widely published in the UK, and internationally, with numerous photographic credits in a wide variety of newspapers, magazines and various other media. His work has been featured in The Guardian-UK, The Telegraph-UK, Daily Mail-UK, METRO, The SUN+, Daily News, People, etc. In addition, his work has won International photo competitions.

 

He now works as an independent and commercial photographer.

His love for macro and animal photography has led him to always discover a new place, where he would be taking pictures of its beautiful flora, fauna and landscape.
